I have yet to receive any help on this error other than it mayhave been a problem with my installation. so I have downloaded and installed the latest cvs of squirrel mail 1.4.0 RC1 and I receive the same error. no plugins installed Thinking that i may have done something incorrectly i deleted the install downloaded the cvs again and tried again.. same error. i then proceeded to download the 1.2.11 cvs and install it. configure the setup using the config.pl and it worked beautifully. well almost, (only after modifying the redirect.php, as documented in numerous places at squirrelmail.net) that having worked I renamed the squirremail folder and installed the 1.4.0 rc1 again and configured it and yet again i received the following error. Fatal error: Failed opening required 'SM_PATHfunctions/global.php' (include_path='.;c:\php\includes') in C:\Inetpub\webpub\squirrelmail\functions\prefs.php on line 14 my configuration is as follows. OS: windows2000 Adv. Server mail server: Ms Exchange 2000 (working)squirrelmail 1.2.11 (non-working) squirrelmail 1.4.0 rc1 plugins: none installed php version: 4.3 perl version: exact version can't remember but it is active perl.
