Got it! Browsing the mailing-list I found a trick for the database... Thought I could apply it to the file preferences and it works!
All you have to do is: edit SMdir/functions/file_prefs.php and look for $prefs_are_cached = true; replace with $prefs_are_cached = false; Works like a charm ;) Also, if you have the same kind of troubles with the database, do the exact same operation in the file db_prefs.php SM rocks! -- deurk.
