not in the current SM paradigm, without a lot of hacking, that is (and
I'm not convinced that that's such a bad thing)

IMAP differentiating users based on password?!?  I highly doubt that.
In any case, I think the question that we should be asking is why are
usernames not more descriptive/dinstinctive?  A more robust virtual
hosting system typically includes domain information in the username --
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]"

Again, that person has to be incorrect.  If you don't know what your
IMAP usernames are, please consult with whoever set up your IMAP server
and the question can be answered very quickly.  Then we can get vlogin
working for you in a flash.  The only other thing I can suggest is that
if you are able to use IMAP thru another client (Pine/Outlook/etc) then
you can get your login information there.  You could also try telnetting
to IMAP on the command line and playing around with logins until you get
a successful login.
