Hello Terry, On Tuesday, March 04, 2003, Terry Allen wrote...
After performing a security update on my OSX 10.1.5 system, that was running Squirrelmail perfectly previously via a virtual host, I now get the following errors generated:
Logic says... what you updated broke something... so what changes did you make? Did you chroot apache? Did you change permissions on /tmp?
Warning: open(/tmp/sess_cf17a5af026a3b63a181a5304e8c0a74, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in /Library/WebServer/WebSites/webmail.xxx.xxx.xxx/src/global.php on line 116
This error message suggests it was unable to write the session file. Check to make sure apache/php has access to /tmp and it is writable by world (/tmp should be writable as it is often used by other applications for work).

Hi again,
Thanks Jonathan - I figured as much, but had to go out & attend an on-site job before getting to this - as you suspected, the update for whatever reason had changed the permissions on /tmp - corrected it & now Squirrelmail is working as before.
Apple's System & some of their Security update packages seem to ruin the permissions on many things, including sendmail permissions - not real flash when you're sorting the mess out afterwards.
