Well, the base_uri that is being computed for you appears to be wrong.
Can you please try replacing the file functions/display_messages.php
with the one in the attached tarball (remember to make a backup  ;>)?
Oh, and in the echo statement around line 36, if you could also print
out the $PHP_SELF variable, that would be very very helpful.
