Well okay - I can look at this. The method I tried without complete success was to deliver the mail as another user (with procmail). Then the user who accesses the mail has r only access. Cannot delete move or send messages - just read. This is a special case - not all users obviously. I fiddled around with this on owner and group permissions but did not quite achieve what I wanted. I will regroup (metaphorically) and look at the ACL idea with the IMAP server some time. PS.
