A few weeks ago, a proposed new version of the Folder Synch plugin was
posted to the plugins list which actually worked, as opposed to the
current official version which only works properly for one broken
version of IE. Unfortunately, the test version can delete mail with no
user intervention in some circumstances. If you have installed this
plugin (version 0.7 or 0.7b) and you also have the delete_move_next
plugin enabled, you should disable the Synch plugin or turn off the
'Folder list update forces message list update' option for all your
users. I've found the cause and will post an updated version as soon as
I can.

The cause is this: if the javascript on the left frame detects that the
right frame has an out-of-date message count, it reloads the frame.
If you are reading a message and click on "Delete and next", the url for
the message/mailbox display frame will now contain a 'delete_id=X'
parameter. If this is reloaded, SquirrelMail will attempt to delete
the corresponding e-mail. If your version of SquirrelMail (and your
mail server) supports unique message ids and this is turned on, you
won't have a problem. Otherwise you may well have a problem, because if
any new messages come in one of them will possibly have re-used the
deleted message id. So if you hit "Delete and next" and walk away from
your computer, everything that comes in in the meantime may be deleted.
