More Details:

Used browser: Internetexplorer 5.00.2614.3500IS

The errors don't occur when using special functions, but totally
random when using any function (e.g. opening a mail, next message,
Reply, Send, etc.).

The most frequent message is: "Diese Seite enth\344lt sowohl
sichere als auch nicht sichere Objekte. M\366chten Sie die nicht
sicheren Objekte anzeigen? ja nein Details"

(Translation: This page contains both secure and insecure Objects. Do
you want to display the insecure Objects? Yes No Details)

Remark: The whole webserver is ONLY accessible via SSL.

If you now click on Yes or No, either:

1) nothing happens or
2) You get the error message "Die Seite kann nicht angezeigt werden"
   (The page cannot be displayed)

When you click again OR use "Back" and click the same button again,
everything functions as expected (== no error is being produced)

When leaving SquirrelMail by clicking on "Logout" one very often gets
the message "The page cannot be displayed".

My users noticed that these error occur more frequently IF one uses
SquirrelMail with large delays between clicks/actions (e.g. first you
take some time to read a mail, a minute or so and THEN you click on
"Reply").
