It's a bug in debian's distributed copy (*grumbles*). There is a
ticket open/closed on it over at debian. IIRC, if you look at
functions/display_messages.php you'll see a line containing
${DOCUMENT_ROOT}, or something to that affect on line 99... I believe
that is the line that is wrong.
