Hi I have used Gmane for a couple of weeks to view the list archives. I found the sourceforge ones slow or sometimes not working at all. particularly for searches. I was happy using the web interface to search Gmane although I prefer to use an offline newsreader (Forte Agent has been my choice for many years).
Now I have time to look at Gmane I have discovered it is possible to use it with Agent by setting it up to use news.gmane.org. Cool :) I am now using it for 3 Squirrelmail lists. It is a bit slow pulling down the messages for the first time but hey, it's free :) Don't know if you can post using it yet but then I prefer to use Pegasus or Squirrelmail for posting. Anyway I just thought would share in case anyone else was unaware of this and is struggling with slow searches. -- Thx.
