Using SM 1.4.1 and UW IMAP (2001a; patched to put folders in "$HOME/mail") on RedHat 9, I have the following problem. When I create a new Linux user and use SM for the first time, everything works fine as the user logs in, and SM creates the "Sent", "Draft" and "Trash" folders as it should ($default_folder_prefix = '' so that SM doesn't repeat the work that the patched UW IMAP does), and in the right place, as well.
But if I try to use SM for a user that has already been using IMAP folders with another mail client -- say, Mozilla or the Apple Mail client -- I can see the inbox, but I get the following error where the list of folders should be:
*ERROR : Could not complete request.* Query: CREATE "Sent" Reason Given: CREATE failed: Can't create mailbox node /home/olduser/mail/Sent: File exists
Now indeed, the file really does exist, since Mozilla mail already created. But I can't get SM to stop caring about this...
This doesn't seem to be related to permissions, since the directories and files appear to have the same permissions in both cases, and everything is owned by the user.
Is there a setting that will get SM to chill out about sharing the account with other IMAP clients?
Much thanks, Rob
