I have seen this problem come up only once with a clients account a while back but I am unsure what the solution was.

A user is unable to send out email from S.M. and gets the following message:

syntax error;command not recognized
server replied:500 5.7.0 authentication failed

I have successfully sent email from her account on my computer(entirely different location).
I asked her to try from another computer in the office but she still gets the same error msg. Other S.M. users are able to send out from the office and using the same computer as the user who is affected.

I tried different solutions to try to isolate the problem but wasn't able to get anywhere. Can anybody shed some light on this?
I believe the systems are running I.E.5 on Windows 98. But I can get specifics if need be.
Thanks
JV
