If I were Tomas, I'd have a witty comment for you about how emotional the Squirrel gets when you use it to send HTML email (the plugin is called "emoticons").

Click "view as html" if you have that plugin installed, and it will work as you expect. That is how all html email is dealt with in SquirrelMail. Oh, and sounds like you're using the old HTML_area and emoticons plugins.
