I have converted many schools in Northern Michigan to switch to squirrelmail for obvious reasons. There are probably a dozen or more school districts around me that are using it as their main client. After my evangelizing, I find that MY folks are having problems with their older macintosh computers! :)
Since my setup works great on most computers (all my linux computers, windows computers, newer macintosh computers) -- I assume it is something to do with the old clients, BUT since hotmail seems to work fine for them, I look like the "shmuck."
THE SYMPTOMS:
* Slow responses when clicking, which is partly due to the age of the computers.
* (this is the worst complaint) The computers won't keep up when typing. For example, while composing an email, they type, and a few seconds later the text shows up. I KNOW it's not the fault of squirrelmail, because it works on all the other computers fine... but since hotmail doesn't have that problem, I'm inclined to think that something MIGHT be able to be tweaked.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try? I LOVE the program, and will not move away from it -- but would like to have something I can make the teachers happy with.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions, etc.
