O.K., I was told I had left out some information. I had assumed it was because someone was actually planning on looking at it and helping me. Was it just because two people had nothing better to do than point out I had not provided enough information?

By the way, it is a SuSE 8.2 system, not 9.0.

Sorry. Yes, I should have included additional info. Here it is.

This is a SuSE 9.0 system.
cyrus-imapd-2.1.12-29
apache2-2.0.48-14
squirrelmail-1.4.1-59
apache2-mod_php4-4.3.1-24
mod_php4-core-4.3.1-24

I'm note sure what config info is of interest. This install works fine better than 99% of the time. Once I get this error on an email, I will always get that error on THAT email with SM.

Hello Timothy,
On Thursday, January 08, 2004, Timothy Reaves wrote...

Some of my mail, when I select one from a folder, displays the following
error message instead of the message.

ERROR:
ERROR : Could not complete request.
Query:
Reason Given: No matching messages

I can use a 'traditional' e-mail client to read it. This being the
case,
the problem can not be on the server (my client does not download
messages). It has to be SquirrelMail.

Any ideas?

Without more information, not really. You've not told us the very basic information that we require when we try and help:

  IMAP Server
  Web Server
  SquirrelMail Version
  PHP Version
  Configuration Information
