Options->Display Preferences->Always show full date

Have you changed this setting?

SquirrelMail displays time in three forms.
1 form = todays email.
_("G:i") or _("g:i a")

2 form = this week
_("D, G:i") ir _("D, g:i a")

3 form = before this week
_("M j, Y")

http://www.php.net/function.date

Final format depends on your translation, clock format that you are using
and show full date option.
