For awhile now I have been having some problems with SM and Internet Explorer. We run
a small setup at our location to provide email access when some of our consultants are
on the road, etc.

Basically, if a person is using Internet Exlorer with SM, he will sometimes obtain
"timeouts" as I call them. A "timeout" occurs when he trys to access some sort of
data within SM, such as accessing a new folder, accessing a particular email message,
etc. When a timeout occurs, Internet Explorer will not even try to access data from
the network, rather just display the "Cannot display information from the page you
requested" error in that particular frame of the webpage (yes, it happens in the
folder list frame as well!)

Another problem we are experiencing is when trying to compose and send the e-mail from
internet explorer. The message can be all ready typed, etc. in the compose window,
and when the "send" button is pressed, IE starts trying to send/load information...we
see the little "status bar" at the bottom of the screen eventually load up...however
this takes 10-15 minutes, and the e-mail is never sent.

All of these problems with SM and IE happen randomly...however, using a dialup
connection seems to magnify the problems greatly.

I am suspecting not the SM setup, but rather the possibility of my PHP settings or
APACHE settings, however this brings confusion into the arena, because we have no
problems at all with SM and Mozilla/firebird/konqueror and the problem seems to be
specific to IE...

Squirrel Mail Version: 1.4.2
Server version: Apache/1.3.28 (Unix)
Operating System: OpenBSD 3.4 GENERIC#0 i386
PHP Version: PHP 4.3.3 (cli) (built: Dec 29 2003 16:56:03)

We have Apache running in a chroot() as well.

Thanks, and I appreciate any thoughts/ideas you may have about my problem..
