One of the organisations that emails me sends out its messages as
multipart/alternative but does not include the header
MIME-Version 1.0
which means that IMAP and hence Squirrelmail doesn't read the meail
correctly.

Any ideas of what to do? Some possibilities:
1. Ask the organisation to correct its error. I don't think though it will
take any notice
2. Get Squirrelmail to parse the message properly. I have some experience of
PHP but would welcome some help in implementing this
3. Add the missing header and then resave the email in the Inbox so IMAP
will then read the email properly. This would ideal if only I could find out
how to do this.

I am using SquirrelMail 1.2.9 with a number of changes I have made, so am
reluctant to upgrade.

Thanks
