Yes and no. Yes, disabling it will eliminate the error, but I knew that.
The error occurs only when two conditions are true: folder_sync plugin is
active with "Folder list update forces message list update" enabled, and
there is a user-created folder with sub-folders.

But no, refreshes don't work if I disable the folder_sync plugin. I mean,
the folder list will refresh, but it will no longer auto-refresh the
message list.

At this point with this error it seems I can have one of these but not
both: either I can have user-created folders with sub-folders, OR I can
have the Folder list update force a message list update. If both are true,
then the errors occur. Has no one else seen this? Is this not the case in
your installation?
