Search the archives, this one's a common problem. There is no move command in IMAP, so in order to get the message into the Trash folder before we delete it, we have to make a copy. That means the space required to store the message is temporarily double - the original plus the copy in Trash. For large messages, this can cause you to go over your filesystem or IMAP quota(s), which is what is happpening in this case.
