This isn't a problem with squirrelmail, but a) the way you're sending
the mail, and b) your smtp server. SquirrelMail is just a client, it
doesn't receive mail, nor store mail... just displays and sends them
via services on the server (IMAP and SMTP).  Try using the format:

  [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Including the [ ] around the address. Don't forget to make sure your
SMTP server is set to accept mail for that IP address, otherwise you
might get a bit of a rejection.
