Status update-
Many thanks. I downloaded the May 25 CVS snapshot for SM1.5.1, installed
it, and now on my biggest email boxes, I get a new error on initial login-
"IMAP connection timed out", but for whatever reason, clicking on the
"Inbox" link brings the inbox up correctly, no matter how big the email box.
Although no doubt everyone here will be able to correct me, but I suspect
that SM must be crawling the Inbox and caching it (or at least the headers)
on initial login, which takes sufficient time on my biggest mailboxes that
the Exchange server times its connection out, but clicking on the "Inbox"
link, it re-opens the connection, and finishes caching.
And of course, once everything's cached, it's very fast.
Thanks again for all the help.

<Long post on initial problem snipped>
This kind of behaviour is exactly the reason why i rewrote the sorting part
of squirrelmail last weekend. Please try the latest SM 1.5.1 CVS snapshot
and tell us how much faster squirrelmail has become.
Marc.
