There's an IMAP option that moves mail from the spool directory into the
users's home directory, the moment that IMAP makes a connection to it.
It seems your POP server is configured to look at the spool, instead of
the INBOX folder in your home dir.
Not really an issue on using SeSE or postfix. But what imap and pop
servers are you using ?
