can you be more specific? which charset? can you provide Content-Type headers of email?

do you have iconv or recode support in your php install? do you need option to read 
email or you want to read _and_ reply to asian emails? how many things are you wiling 
to change in squirrelmail? which translation should be able to read and reply to asian 
emails? which translations are used? do you want experimental squirrelmail features in 
your install?

squirrelmail provides only limited support for reading multibyte charsets. it is 
possible to create squirrelmail installation that supports those charsets (euc-kr, 
euc-jp, shift-jis, iso-2022-jp, gb2312, gb18030), but it will kill your server or will 
increase requirements in php config.
