actually the "answer" is very open but:

1. i wont try something on the bleeding edge of "technology", if it is
production use standard and established things this way it is stable and
if something hit the fan the solutions are on the wire if you dont know it
already. re-consider using spam/av control/scanning and quota this will
stop the endless headaches before it begin.

2. cal how much space/quota and provide the appropriate hardware for 100k
users. consider RAID? a T2 line? plenty of real RAM? a php accelerator
like turck mmcache?

3. SM special settings? squirrel's homepage provides plenty of suggestions

you didn't mention your hardware specs or the OS. only the one box?
where's the standard procedure backup?
