Sounds fine to me if you can get Exim and Cyrus IMAP to both use teh BerkeleyDB files for authentication sources.

The SM integration is trivial (if you read the SM Docs full) since it does it's authentication through the IMAP server.

I have a similar setup using Postfix and Courier-IMAP instead. They both authenticate using PAM. Which uses the native FreeBSD passowrd database. Which in turn is a BerkeleyDB (or possibly DBM) file. Aliases are handled entirely by Postfix and are stored in a DBM file.

Ok after doing some research and based on my needs I think the following
best meets my needs:
Exim+Cyrus IMAP+Squirrel Mail+Using shared BerkeleyDB files for
domains/aliases/authentication.

The only thing I think I may have problems with is cyrus+berkeley(I haven't
been able to find much online).
Anyone doing something similar?
