Sorry, let us make this clear. It is getting unnecessarily confusing.
You mean to say I should install maildrop (or procmail) and understand
how it works? Am I right till here?
If yes, I have already installed maildrop and I have used it for quite a 
few months. I know rules and all the other stuff (basics atleast).
Now my "question" is that will this work with a vpopmail setup, where
there is a single, I repeat a single user to control all domains and 
users? 
If yes where does squirrlemail (and the plugin) fit in?
