at anyrate, imap + squirrelmail is going to require you
installing imap (requires root access) and creating user accounts (at
least for each of the users you want to get mail there). usually when
hosting companies say you can install applications. they mean
webapplications like cgis not 'real' applications like imap.
another option is to install squirrelmail and point
squirrelmail to receive its imap email from another server (which
could be anywhere you can get your home email client to use imap)
