I have squirrelmail installed and it functions (almost) perfectly
however when I go to 'compose' and fill in my message fields as required
and then click send the page waits for a second or two and then returns
me to the 'now blank' compose page. Needless to say the e-mail is not sent and nothing appears in sent-mail.
No evidence of squirrelmail trying to send the mail is apparent in the
postfix logs. I have tried configuring squirrelmail to send via both sendmail and smtp
to the local ip address and also to my ISP's smtp server to no avail. If I send smtp mail manually from a shell prompt postfix accepts the
mail and it is delivered without problems.
My setup.
SMTP Server: ESMTP Postfix (Snapshot-20011125) IMAP Server: uw IMAP4rev1 2000.283rh PHP Version php-4.1.2-7.1.6, php-ldap-4.1.2-7.1.6, php-imap-4.1.2-7.1.6 Web server: apache-1.3.27-3.7.1 Platform: Red Hat linux 7.1 How your software was installed: Via RPM Packages SquirrelMail version: squirrelmail-1.4.3a-1
- verify that the SMTP server does or does not need authentication
- verify that SM's settings match the above
- verify that SM's settings have correct server location and port
- watch the logs. if you get nothing in the logs, you probably pointed SM to the wrong place. turn on php error displays (or use Debugger plugin) just to be safe.
