Are you running openldap? Do you have idletimeout configured in slapd.conf? Try removing it.
Is there a job that runs sometime between 5 and 8 that would be locking
your auth system and preventing authentication? Am I guessing wildly? :-)
not that I could find.
What is your peak using for webmail activity? It's a long shot but
courier-imap could simply be refusing additinal logins from your webmail
server. Courier-imap limit the number of simultanious connections (to 4 by
default). This isn't usually an issue with webmail because the connections
are so short.
peak usage is from 8am to 5pm Only one other person was attaching to the imap server during this time (the person left a mail client open and it was checking for new mail every 5 mins). I did not see a disconnect for that user.
