No suggestions - apart from the obvious (BTW since when did Microsoft *sell* or give away all you've installed for SM?), but: I have none of these problems with SM 1.4.3a or 1.5.1 CVS on Apache 2.0, PHP 4.3.2 et al, standard Red Hat RHAS3 Linux.
