Yes, if you created the Alias in a certain way.  In your httpd.conf files
your Alias line probably looks like this:

  Alias /webmail/ /usr/local/squirrelmail/

Because you have the / on the end of the alias, it is trying to map
directory to directory, when you don't include the / it doesn't know what
to do.  You can either a) remove the / on the end, or b) take a look at
the apache documentation, there is a rewrite rule I think that takes care
of this little thing.
