I'm new to the list and new to Squirrel mail.
My problem:
I am in a situation where i have to use a windows server, but i need to
set up webmail. I know squirrel mail is great and i know it mainly runs
on linux. I have set it up and it runs well up to a point. I know where
the error is but i don't know how to fix it.
When a user attempts to log in they get the error
"Error opening ../data/default_pref
Could not create initial preference file!
../c:\inetpub\sdata/ should be writable by user httpd
Please contact your system administrator and report this error"
Now the leading ../ is the problem. And the trailing / is also the problem. i see it in the code. define smpath. So my quesiton is How do i replace the ../ to make it c:\ as root without breaking the links to everything else that relies on smpath. Also how do i remove the trailing /.
Don't hate me for asking. I really like squirrelmail. But am forced to be using a MS server.
