This is a rhel v3 clone (wbel r1 actually) and I have the following
installed...

# rpm -q squirrelmail php-imap php imap sendmail
squirrelmail-1.4.3a-9.EL3
php-imap-4.3.2-19.ent
php-4.3.2-19.ent
imap-2002d-9
sendmail-8.12.11-4.RHEL3.1

imap is available via xinetd on localhost only. squirrelmail runs local
and is configured for localhost. This setup seems to work fine most of
the time, but...

Once in a while, very randomly, I have users that loose all email from
their inbox (not from folders). When it happens they report they view
there are messages listed in the inbox, they actually read one or two,
then they logout from squirrelmail. After 2 or 3 hours they return and
the same inbox is now empty. This doesn't happen every time, but enough
times and from enough users that I have to believe it is real.

I'm looking for some tips on how to debug and resolve this problem. I
don't find any error messages in any of the logs. I also didn't fine
anything useful with google searches.

Anybody have some clues, or a test that I can run that may tell us more?

Thanks for your time

Brad
