Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good freeware new mail notifier that sits in the
Windows system tray? For a variety of reasons, our users are complaining
that the notification methods in the new mail options aren't working for
them.

Thanks,

Sean,

Most of the mail checkers that reside in the system tray are for POP3
connections. If you're looking for a checker that will talk to an IMAP
server, try IMAP Notify from Van Dyke Software
(http://www.vandyke.com/pub/imapnotify/inotify104.exe). It's not officially
supported by Van Dyke and you will not find any links to it on their
website, but it works. I've personally used it for several years now
without a hitch.

Too bad...

http://www1.vandyke.com/pub/IMAPNotify/inotify104.exe
Wow! That took me about 5 secs to figure out!
Next time, please try to be a bit creative url-wise ;)

Yeah, I should have known, cuz I always put a "1" after the "www" part of my own server URIs and my URIs are always case sensitive.

Eargh.

I'll take the rap for not paying close enough attention ( IMAPNotify/ is case-sensitive). The "1" is not needed, but it works as well. Corrected URL = http://www.vandyke.com/pub/IMAPNotify/inotify104.exe

Next time, I'll finish a cup of coffee before staring at my computer.

Greg
