Hi all - We are looking for a way to be able to report on/track user
activity(or more importantly, be alerted to non-activity) within
SquirrelMail. By 'activity' I mean, in it's very basic form, whether or
not the user is logging in to SquirrelMail to how often the user is
checking their email. Being automatically alerted if a particular user
has not logged into/checked their SquirrelMail in a given number of days
would be our activity tracking 'nirvana'. To provide some background,
we have rolled out a webmail system to a network of nearly 400 users
across the country and, to say the least, they are often stubborn or
'forgetful' when it comes to checking their email. Unfortunately, one
person not checking email could lead to issues resulting in a loss of
busine$$ for all users. Not checking email may seem ludicrous in
today's day and age but our users are certainly not your ordinary bunch.
Any suggestions on how we might be able to proactively monitor usage
would be greatly appreciated.
SquirrelMail has sql_logger plugin that might be used as a starting point
for your webmail service usage statistics.
Additionally, I have a new version of Vadmin plugin almost at beta
quality that allows you to view all user accounts and sort them by last
login date. Unfortunately, your email system has to have a backend that
specifically matches what Vadmin is compatible with, which is
Vmailmgr-compatible system or a SQL-backed system (new for Vadmin 3).
