My experience is that it works just fine -- you must disable the showing of errors, or else it will spew them on several of your screens, but we never experienced any actual trouble due to those errors. They all seem to be in the category of using invalid (uninitialized?) objects. You should test, but ours runs with php5 just fine, but we have limited exerience (time and number of users.)
