Thanks for your help sir.

Does it matter that I named the squirrelmail directory "mail"? I think
that is the problem. I have renamed the squirrelmail directory from
"squirrelmail-1.4.4" to "mail". I used wget to retrieve the patch. All
other patches I have applied in the past worked just fine. I never needed
the Squirrelmail directory to be a specific name. I will try renaming the
directory and then applying the patch when I get a chance.
