Marc and Chris are both correct, it is highly unlikely that Squirrelmail
is causing the items to be deleted.  It is much more likely that the
situation you are experiencing is caused by your IMAP server.  Courier
IMAP, for instance, has an automatic purge function built in that does
precisely this.  By default in the packages for most distros, this is
turned off, but may have been enabled.

I would check with whomever is responsible for the configuration of your
IMAP server, or if that is you, please check your IMAP server
configuration.  Your IMAP server should have appropriate documentation
and support information on their websites.  If you would like help
finding out this information, please post more specification information
