The only thing I can think of is that these two users had logged in to
their accounts using the same computer at one time. If their sessions
crossed on that day, then one user's prefs may have been accidentally
copied to the other's.

This can not be the case. According to the user the problem has also
occured on locations where the other person have never ever been and the
sessions could never clash.

Fine, but PLEASE double check by comparing pref files. Maybe prefs
crossed for some other reason.
The prefs files had indeed been fscked up! The address of [EMAIL PROTECTED] was present in the preference file for [EMAIL PROTECTED], even his name was there. The files have now been cleaned up, and hopefully this should not happen again. I'm very puzzled to why they looked like this though. Maybe a user error or session mixup when the users were entering personal details.

But on the other hand, if this information was wrong for [EMAIL PROTECTED], how come it wasn't used on every email sending? Or maybe it actually was, but the user never noticed? :)

Ah well, sorry to have bothered you with such a trivial question. My fault for not checking the pref-files before asking here.
