Correction again ;) SM doesn't call that STARTTLS at all, and in no way have we ever called it that. STARTTLS runs a TLS connection over a standard port after an initial plain text connection. We've always said (and it can be found all over the archives) that SM/PHP does not support STARTTLS (at least not yet, maybe they'll get it in PHP some day).
