Courier vacation plugin is made to work with Courier Maildrop, as the
plugin description says. If you do not use Maildrop, then naturally,
this plugin won't work for you. A new version of it is in development
that supports the Postfix Admin package.

The thing you need to figure out is how your MTA delivers mail and if it
honors .forward files, or some other filtering-capable LDA. I don't
know what Xmail uses, maybe you should ask those people and come back
with more info. If your system uses .forward files, something like the
vacation_local plugin might work for you.

None of the SquirrelMail vacation plugins do their autoresponding in the
client. They are all front ends to procmail, maildrop, .forward files,
sieve, etc. and they are a LOT more user friendly than making users
understand procmail-speak. Ugh.
