SM only knows ONE username.  So if you have some aliased login system,
you have to figure out how to work around it so you can log in as
foo.bar instead of fb (Virtual Host Login plugin can help you do that so
you can still type fb, but it gets mapped to foo.bar), or you need to
make sure the email address in Options->Personal Information is set to
foo.bar (you can use the Retrieve User Data or New User Wizard plugins
to help automate this if necessary).
