We'd need more information about your environment to actually be able to
help you. Take a look at the posting guidelines for hints. For your
issue however, it almost sounds like an odd issue that comes up from time
to time when apache reports it is using SSL when in fact it isn't. This
results in us generating an invalid redirection to an SSL site that causes
your page to "timeout". You don't mention your browser, so it's difficult
to guess if that is the right results.
You can test this theory by opening functions/strings.php and finding the
code:
$getEnvVar = getenv('HTTPS');
It should be around line 217ish. Simply comment it out by doing:
// $getEnvVar = getenv('HTTPS');
Note the // at the beginning of the line. See if that helps your issue.
