Why? Cookies are not set when sending a message IIRC. If cookies were broken, the "error" would happen elsewhere. >> This started suddenly, about two weeks ago. What was left out was any error log info. Please read section three of the posting guidelines. My only guess is that the email_footer plugin doesn't work with the newest compatibility plugin, but not really sure without seeing any errors if there are any.
