Emails with priority headers cause fatal errors in PHP 5.0.5+. Known bug.
PHP increased array_shift error reporting level in PHP 5.1.x and ported it
to 5.0.5. Fixed in SquirrelMail 1.4.6cvs. Patch is on SourceForge tracker.

If you use PHP 5.0.4 or newer, you should use SquirrelMail 1.4.6cvs or
apply all SquirrelMail PHP5 fixes from 1.4.6cvs. You can get various
E_NOTICE errors in PHP 5.0.4 and newer, fatal errors in PHP 5.0.5 and
other fatal error in PHP 5.1.0.

SquirrelMail works with PHP 4.1.2 and newer. We can't guarantee that
current officially released SquirrelMail version works with latest PHP
version, because PHP developers have faster development cycle and can
introduce new quirks or security fixes in PHP versions released after
SquirrelMail package. Make sure that problem is present in current
SquirrelMail stable CVS snapshot before reporting bugs related to latest
PHP version. Check SquirrelMail changelogs before upgrading to latest PHP
version. Don't upgrade to latest PHP version without prior testing.
