Maybe I'm misunderstanding but it seems like you're providing a fix for if
my spam assassin isn't working correctly. I'm not using spam assassin (at
least not to my knowledge). I personally do not like having my email
filtered.

What I want to prevent is the emails I send being recognized as spam by
other people's filters. I just want to know if there are any other
settings I can change that will reduce the likelihood of a spam filter
thinking the email I've sent someone is spam (for instance, the example I
provided about the priority setting).

It would be very helpful if someone could help me understand why my email
is getting a spam score at all, since it's obviously not spam. I've just
never had an interest in spam filters so I really don't understand what
kind of criteria they operate under.

Thanks,
Danny

Update to SpamAssassin 3.x or fix your SA 2.x rulesets. SpamAssassin bug

Your setting have little to do with the way somebody elses filters
work.. And that is the way it should be or else every little net-weenie
spammer would be doing it to get around the filters.. Give up your not
going to have any impact on what somebody elses filters do to your email
once it leaves your machine... and the spam rating is just that.. your
mail is evaluated to determine to what level you mail is judged to be
potential spam, when it reaches a cetain level it get stuffed through
the filters and decisions are made then what to do with it. That level
at which this happens is set tby the administrator or the user of the
system to which your mail is sent. And it is out of your hand
completely. They chose to put you on a whitelist or blacklist if your
mail repeatedly looks like spam based on content, address information,
source domain or something that you have altered within the header..
Over all.. Leave it be.. it works fine as is.. you are stressing over
something that you do not understand... just like people worring over
cookies when they don't understand them either..
