Theoretically SquirrelMail header parser can be hacked to fix this issue, but then we will be violating same rfc too. According to rfc2047 broken mime formating should be left undecoded. The right solution is to contact person that created broken message and point him or her at rfc. We live in world based on standards and they are violating one of them. > BTW.
