i add one line in /etc/dovecot.conf
default_mail_env =%h/mail/mbox
also change in /etc/profile
MAIL="$HOME/mail/mbox"
my /etc/procmailrc is as follows
PATH=$HOME/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/ucb:/bin:/usr/local/bin:.
MAILDIR=$HOME/mail
DEFAULT=$MAILDIR/mbox
LOGFILE=$MAILDIR/from
LOCKFILE=$HOME/.lockmail

SquirrelMail uses your IMAP server to read the email. As such,
Squirrelmail itself knows nothing of the storage system used by your
IMAP server. That being said, you need to look at why Dovecot cannot
see your mail. From what I have heard, Dovecot uses Maildir by
default, which is completely different to what you're attempting to
use. Check the Dovecot documentation and configurations to resolve
your issue.
