Hello Mr. Marc Groot,

Thanks for replying to my message, I been trying to solve this problem without
any luck, today I tried to download all e-mails using an OUTLOOK 2000 client
and see if cleaning all mailboxes everything should work fine. But again, no
luck!, the e-mail client said that the mail server close the connection. So I'm
not able to download any mail from those mail accounts. I still receiving mail
but I can't read any of them.

I will review the configuration at the server to enable the feature that you
told me, and see if this solves the problem...., I'll let you know about any
progress.

Regards,

assistance...!!!

Hello Harold,

Your problem has everything to do with sorting messages. When "allow
server side sorting" in conf.pl is disabled (the default) then
squirrelmail sorts the messages by downloading all the headers from the
imap server and that does cost a lot of time (a timeout in your case).

If your imap server supports it (UW, Dovecot, courier and cyrus imap do
support it and probably more servers) then enable server side sorting.

If your imap server doesn't support it then you can do 3 things:
1) reduce the amount of messages inside a mailbox;
2) make sure the messages aren't sorted;
3) try squirrelmail 1.5.1 CVS (the cvs snapshot) because it's a lot
quicker when it concerns sorting.

Regards,

Marc Groot Koerkamp.

 Thanks for your information, I will read the knownbugs and will try to solve

 applying an updated patch (if required). A friend of mine, told me that PHP,

 applies some kind of protection to block large request consume the server

 resources. (Is this true?).

 I will keep reading some text, if someone else had this problem review some

 configuration.
